Oceanic Defense- Activation Through Education
I accepted a position with Oceanic Defense December 14th, 2009 as part of their Advisory Board. I will be bringing my well established experience of grass roots activism, leadership, organizational skills to the organization to help in much needed ground work in regards to the ocean. This organization looks to educate individuals to empower them with the knowledge to make conscious choices to change their own lives to protect the lives within the ocean. Clothing has to be one of the dirtiest industries globally in its massive land use for crop cultivation, its sinful waste of precious drinkable water and energy in its processing and its chemical discharges into the land and water from the dyeing and finishing processes.
It took us over a year to put together all the different elements that make ecowear the most eco friendly clothing there is. Made in Canada from recycled fibres, our prints use only either organic inks or water based inks with zero PVC or pthalates The product we have put together will leave the lightest possible footprint in a fashion garment.
ARK II brought me on board as one of their Directors for International Campaigns June 2008 and I stayed with them until October 2009 where I decided to push all my focus as "Artist For The Ocean".
