There are some limitations to your base bike insurance policy, situations that might not be covered. But fret not! We will always give you a way out! With the right addons, you will be able to cover your expenses for any additional loss or assistance! So, let’s see what are the important addons:

• Parts Depreciation Cover (Zero Dep/ Bumper to Bumper): Like everything in life, there is a decrease in value of certain parts of your bike, including the bumper or any other metal or fibre glass parts. So, when a damage happens, the full cost of replacement is not given as depreciation is deducted from the claim money. But this addon makes sure there is Zero Depreciation Cover and you get the full value of the cost of repair/replacement provided the vehicle is repaired at Digit Authorised Workshop.
• Consumable Cover: Most of us think the cost of replacement of parts like screws, engine oils, nuts & bolts, grease is covered in the standard package policy, sadly it is not. But with this add-on, the cost is covered.
• Engine and Gear-Box Protection Cover: If an accident causes a damage to an engine, it is covered under a standard package policy. But if it is a consequential damage, it is not covered. For example, if your bike is towed roughly or during floods you switch on the engine, which causes damage to the engine or gearbox. This add-on comes to your rescue, covering the repair charges. The cost of replacement of an engine is approx. 40% of vehicle cost, which is huge.
• Return to Invoice Cover: If your bike gets stolen or is totally damaged or its repair cost estimated is more than 75% of its IDV, the cost of buying a similar new bike is covered i.e. you get the ex-showroom price or last invoice value, minus the IDV (Insured Declared Value). This includes the cost of registering the new vehicle and the road tax for it.
• Breakdown Assistance (RSA): Get 24*7 assistance if there is a breakdown on the road, and if you need help for a flat tyre, fuel refill, spare key, flat battery etc.-up to 500 kms from city centre.

Digit Third Party Insurance

Covers third-party losses and Personal Accident for the owner driver

People who generally do not use their two-wheeler too much but still want to have a protection shield around it, usually opt for a Third-Party Liability Policy.

Covers:

• Damage to someone else's property or vehicle
• Accidental injury or death of third party
• Option of unlimited personal damage cover for owner driver, if you don't have one already

Does not cover:

• Damage to own vehicle due to accident, theft, fire, etc.
• Add-ons like Parts Depreciation, Breakdown Assistance, etc.

A Comprehensive or Standard Package policy is highly recommended to bike owners, except certain specific instances like when the owner rarely rides the bike or it is too old already.

Digit Standard Package

To ride a two-wheeler in India, it is mandatory to have at least a Third Party Liability policy. However, only having a Third Party Liability Policy is not enough and can leave you and your bike vulnerable. To have complete protection for your two-wheeler, it is wise to take a Comprehensive or Standard Package two-wheeler insurance policy.

Covers:

• Covers all the benefits of Third Party Insurance i.e. damage to a third-party’s property or vehicle and also any personal damages to a third-party like hospitalization, death or disability
• Additionally, it also covers loss and damage to own vehicle due to reasons like accidents, fire, theft, etc.
• Option of unlimited personal damage cover for owner driver, if you don't have one already

It is equally important to know what’s not covered in your two wheeler insurance policy, so that there are no surprises when you make a claim. Here are some such situations:

• You were driving drunk or without a valid driving license.
• You hold a learner’s license and were driving without a valid driving license-holder in the front passenger seat.
• Any damage which is not a direct result of the accident (e.g. after an accident, if the damaged two wheeler is driven incorrectly and the engine gets damaged, it will not be covered)
• Any contributory negligence(e.g. damage due to driving a two wheeler in a flood, which is not recommended as per the manufacturer’s driving manual, will not be covered)
• Some situations are covered in add-ons. If you haven’t bought those add-ons, the corresponding situations will not be covered.

The claims settlement process against Digit Bike Insurance can be initiated through these 3 simple steps:

• Step 1: Get in touch with Digit Insurance Company on their toll-free number - 1800-258-5956. With this insurance company, you do not need to go through the hassle of filling up a Claims Form.
• Step 2: A link for self-inspection will be sent to you on your registered mobile number. Mention the damages on your insured bike accurately right on your smartphone through a guided step by step process.
• Step 3: Choose the mode of repair you wish to opt for, i.e., Advance Cash or Cashless through their network of garages.

Renewal of your Digit Bike Insurance can be done online in a few clicks. All that you need to do is to enter essential details like bike registration date, your city of residence and the model to be directed to the payment procedure.

• Renewal of existing policies : If your Digit Bike Insurance is yet to expire or it’s nearing expiry, you need to get it renewed. Make the payment. As soon as your existing Digit Bike Insurance policy expires, your new policy will become functional. If you are planning to switch to Digit Bike Insurance from another insurance company, you have to share your RC and the documents of your existing policy.
• Renewal of expired policies : For renewing your Digit Bike Insurance that has already expired, the insurance company will need a pre-inspection of your bike. Also, if your policy has expired more than 90 days ago, you will also lose your NCB (No Claim Bonus) . Therefore, it is advised that you keep a tab on your policy expiry date and renew it before expiry. Also, while your Third Party part of the policy will start at midnight of the day you renew your policy, the benefits against Own Damage will become applicable only after the pre-inspection process has been completed.
