As per the latest update, Nippon India Mutual Fund has been registered with the Securities & Exchange Board of India (SEBI) since June 30, 1995. The name of Reliance Mutual Fund was changed to Nippon India Mutual Fund, effective March 11, 2004. Japan's Nippon Life Insurance has changed the name of Reliance Nippon Life Asset Management (RNAM) after acquiring 75 percent stake in the asset management company. The company will now be called Nippon India Mutual Fund as it has become the sole promoter of the mutual fund. The name change has come into effect from October 7 2019.
